Senator Tofowomo sacks 92 Non-Statutory Aides

The Senator representing Ondo southern Senatorial district at the National Assembly has sacked 92 non-statutory aides he appointed to help him discharge his duties.

Tofowomo made this known in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr Olumide Akinrinlola on Friday in Okitipupa.

According to him, Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, representing Ondo South Senatorial District at the 9th Assembly to announce the disengagement of his 92 Non-Statutory Political Aides effective from July 24, 2020.

“The reconstitution of new aides would be communicated later at the appropriate time.”

Recall, Sen. Tofowomo appointed 92 non-statutory aides who will help him discharge his duties in July 2019.

The appointments of the sacked aides cut across the six Local Government Areas (LGAs) of his constituency which is made up of Okitipupa, Ilaje, Odigbo, Irele, Ese-Odo and Ile Oluji/Oke-Igbo.

Ikale Voice reliably gathered that the appointments are made in order to create employment for indigenes as part of his campaign promises and 40 per cent of his salaries have been dedicated to this.

The least paid among the sacked appointees earn a salary better than the take-home of a newly employed level nine officer in the state civil service.
