Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Ajimotokin Hails Nigerian Army

The Executive Chairman, Irele Local Government has commended the remarkable and patriotic sacrifices made by members of the Nigerian Armed Forces in ensuring the security and unity of the country.

Hon. Ajimotokin gave the commendation during the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day held at Olusegun Agagu mini stadium in Ode Irele today

Expressing optimism in the country’s unity, Ajimotokin noted, “This occasion also reminds us of the need for Nigerians to live peacefully irrespective of their religious or ethnic background”.

He said: “Armed Forces Remembrance Day must be a constant reminder of the great sacrifices that our ex-servicemen and gallant fallen heroes made to secure our nation. For us in Irele Local Government, we will continue to prioritise their yearnings “.

Hon. Ajimotokin lauded the exploits of the Nigerian Armed Forces to maintain peace, unity and stability in the country, urging Nigerians to celebrate them as the pride of the country.

Paying tribute to veterans who devoted most of their active lives to securing the nation and the world, particularly those who paid the supreme sacrifice, Hon. Ajimotokin stressed.

He commended the Nigerian Legion, Irele Local Government Chapter through the Chairman, Corps Major Bohan for living up to its mandate of catering for the welfare of ex-servicemen and those that distinguished themselves in the wars Nigeria participated in.

The honourable Chairman praised the indefatigable governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu (SAN) for championing the cause of providing adequate security for the entire South West which led to the formation of Amotekun as the regional security outfit. The governor’s efforts according to the Hon. Ajimotokin has contributed in great measure to the peace and security in the zone.

He thereafter performed the laying of wreaths in honour of the fallen heroes and enjoined all to remain steadfast and committed to our country,” he said.
