Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim to deliver FUTA Foundation Day Lecture

Billionaire Business Magnate and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representating Ondo South at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly will on Tuesday, Aug 20 deliver the 2024 Foundation Day Lecture of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), founded 43 years ago (1981).
The Oxford trained mega project expert will speak on the lecture titled: “Abandoned Mega Project In Nigeria: Any Respite From Nigerian Universities?” at 11:00 am at Obafemi Awolowo Auditorium, FUTA.
Prof. Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, the Vice-Chancellor of the University will preside over the event.
Jimoh Ibrahim is a prominent businessman in Nigeria, with business interests in hotels, insurance, banking, oil and gas, real estate, and airlines.
He holds a Business Doctorate degree from the University of Cambridge Judge’s Business School, also awarded with Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Modern War Studies from the prestigious University Of Buckingham both in United Kingdom.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in law and a Master of Public Administration from the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, Nigeria, in addition to a Master of Science in Mega Project Management from the University of Oxford Said Business School, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Cambridge. He is also an alumnus of the Harvard Law School and holds other degrees.
In the public sector, Jimoh Ibrahim was in 2005 appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe to the Federal Republic of Nigeria for life in 2007.
He was appointed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nigeria Corporate Affairs Commission (equivalent of the British Company House).
The Nigerian Government conferred on him the higher National Honours of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) and Commander of the Order of Federal Republic (CFR) (the equivalent of the British Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE).
Presently, he’s beaming his midas touch of unprecedented legislative representation at the Nigerian Senate and currently, Ibrahim is building a world class University, Fortune University, Igbotako established on 150 hectares of land which is the first Private University in the entire Southern Senatorial District of Ondo State, Nigeria.
