Dangote Refinery has refuted claims that it has fixed the price of petrol at N600 per litre. In a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the company clarified that such reports are inaccurate.
The statement addresses recent headlines about the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) projecting a price of N600 per litre for Dangote petrol. Dangote Refinery emphasized that IPMAN is not a business partner and has not been involved in discussions regarding the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). IPMAN, according to the refinery, lacks the authority to represent the company on such matters.
The company urged the public to disregard speculative announcements and assured that official statements will be made through their designated communication channels.
Reports from DAILY POST highlight ongoing tensions between Dangote Refinery and government agencies over crude oil supply, which could impact fuel importation. Recently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to sell crude oil to the refinery in local currency.
