Women Will Be Given Enough Attention – Dr. Daramola

The grassroots politician who is also an aspirant in the forth coming Irele /Okitipupa Federal Constituency Election, Dr. Olumuyiwa Daramola stressed the need to give women adequate attention and recognition in the allocation of scarce resources, stating that they are not only good for voting.

Daramola made this known at Okitipupa while addressing women group led by women leaders across wards in Okitipupa Local Government.

He said; “It is a huge error to restrict women to the kitchens or fiddling positions in this 21st century, considering their preponderant population and political exploits taking Dr. Mrs. Okonjo Iweala and others doing well at world level, as case studies”

“I want to assure you that I will not discriminate against gender in my programmes. We’ll ensure everyone is touched and carried along,” he said.

”In the just concluded proceedings/voting at the National Assembly, you would recall that Eighty-one (81) lawmakers voted in favour of the women’s bill, while 208 voted against it and 13 members abstained from voting; I must confess, I share in your plights, and be rest assured that some of us are pulling for you, and near are the days you will take your place in our politicking”, he told the women.

The women, in response, expressed their excitement at his level of sympathy/empathy, and advocacy for gender fairness, promising him their total supports.
