FCT: Govt spends N121.8 million on Covid-19 School Feeding Programme

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has announced that it is set to commence the distribution of Covid-19 palliative items of the School Feeding Programme to 29,209 households within the Federal Capital Territory.

The Ministry made this known during inspection of the items worth N121, 800,000 at its warehouse in Abuja. Only public school pupils from primary 1 to 3 and their households will benefit from the programme.

It disclosed that each pack worth N4,200 with raw food includes rice, noodles, soap and eggs and will be distributed across the nation’s capital.

The Ministry noted that it is working on on the next phase of the School Feeding Programme for pupils in private schools which will be announced as soon as all plans are concluded for the distribution.
