Bajowa faults Okitipupa’s arson, donates N5M, own property for Council take-off

The wanton destruction of public and private properties in Okitipupa Local Government area by hoodlums during the peaceful EndSARS protests has been condemned by Gen. Olu Bajowa (Rtd). Bajowa who holds the title of Jagunmolu of Ikale Land described the incident as unfortunate.

In a statement personally signed by the General and made available to newsmen, Bajowa said, “I feel pained and saddened by the level of destruction of private properties, government establishments and monuments of Ikale heritage in Okitipupa Local Government Area (LGA), by people who are devilish and retrogressive”

“I share in the pains of this trying period, of all our Royal fathers and the entire people of Ikale land, at home and in diaspora, for these dastardly and condemnable actions, perpetrated by the enemies of the society.”

Gen. Bajowa, a crown Prince of Ikale land however pledged support to government in rehabilitating properties destroyed. He also promise a donation of cash and personal property for immediate take off of the Council Secretariat which was among the properties burnt by the arsonists.

“On behalf of myself and my wife, the Regent of Ayeka Kingdom, I offer our Iye-Lumure House, at 49, Erinje Road Okitipupa and the sum of Five Million Naira Only (N5,000,000.00), for the immediate take-off of the Council”

The Jagunmolu of Ikale Land also proposed Ikale summit where Ikale trust fund would be launched so that patriotic sons and daughters of Ikale at home and in diaspora would be encouraged to make contributions for the noble cause.

He therefore implored the royal fathers and the entire Ikale indegenes to accept the unfortunate situation as a call for unity and not to hesitate in giving support for the overall development of Ikale. He assured that perpetrators of the evil will not go unpunished.

“I implore our Royal fathers and all Ikale sons and daughters not to be deterred or discouraged in giving support for the development of our motherland, but to please accept this unfortunate setback as a clarion call for unity amongst all stakeholders, because with “unity”, the administration of Okitipupa Local Government will bounce back to life again,”
Bajowa said.
