AKOTOGBO–IJU-OSUN ROAD CONSTRUCTION ONGOING, CLAIMS BY IRELE YOUTH VANGUARD MISLEADING — BML MEDIA TEAM
The Barrister Morayo Lebi Media Team has dismissed reports circulating on social media concerning the state of the ongoing Akotogbo–Iju-Osun road construction in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State, describing the claims as misleading and not reflective of the current situation on ground.
In a press statement made available to Ikale Voice Newspaper, the media team clarified that images being circulated by a group identifying itself as the Irele Youth Vanguard were taken long before the present phase of construction and do not represent the level of work currently ongoing at the project site.
According to the statement, construction activities are actively in progress, with significant work already carried out on the road. It noted that a visit to the site clearly shows that the project is advancing steadily, contrary to the impression created by the outdated images.
The statement further revealed that residents of Akotogbo and Iju-Osun communities were assured that the road project would be completed within the current dry season, in view of the importance of the road to transportation, economic activities, and social interaction within the communities.
For many years, the statement noted, residents have suffered untold hardship due to the poor condition of the road, particularly during the rainy season. The ongoing construction was therefore described as a long-awaited relief and a major step toward sustainable development in the area.
The Barrister Morayo Lebi Media Team called on those making contrary claims to visit Akotogbo and assess the level of work firsthand, rather than relying on outdated materials capable of misleading the public and undermining genuine development efforts.
The statement also reaffirmed Barrister Morayo Lebi’s commitment to the development of Akotogbo, Iju-Osun, and Ondo South Senatorial District. It emphasized that despite not holding any official government or party position, Barrister Lebi has continued to deploy his personal influence and networks to advocate for infrastructural development, particularly in the area of road construction.
According to the media team, his efforts reflect strong leadership qualities, integrity, and a deep understanding of grassroots development, noting that true leadership is measured by impact rather than titles.
The statement concluded by urging stakeholders, community members, and media organizations to uphold truth, fairness, and objectivity in reporting, while supporting genuine initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
