Ilutitun in Ikale Nation is a sprawling town in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State – the Sunshine State, presently under the leadership of an enigmatic man who funnily created an Arakunrin appellation by himself and for himself in governance, replacing the much respected egocentric word Excellency, by what seem a common man’s phrase. The Yoruba word Arakunrin, which simply means ‘Gentleman’ in its English interpretation and ‘Eni Owo’ in its Yoruba version. This is no less the person of Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, the Executive Governor of Ondo State.
Recently, there was fresh news that has gone viral on the internet about the feat of a namesake of Arakunrin, Odunayo.
This time not of Arakunrin the Governor but of Odunayo Adekuoroye the wrestler, daughter of Ilutitun Osooro Community in Ikale Nation of Ondo State.
The Union of Ikale Indigenes (UOII), a futuristic Socio – cultural Organisation in Ikale Nation receives with immense pride and jubilation the news of Odunayo Adekuoroye wrestling conquest at the International Arenal.
UOII, proudly celebrates you Odunayo and rejoice with your parents, your sponsors and coordinators.
The Union believes that this singular achievement is indeed a community pride and a persuasive signal and message to Ikale Youths that out there, there is gamut of trophies on sports to be picked to bring fame, riches and well being to your community.
Odunayo Adekuoroye the Wrestler, must know that she has unknowingly set the record from where the Union will take – off on its plan to create an IKALE ARCHIVE AND MUSEUM within the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, for the documentation of community attainments and feats as well as the keeping of Ikale Cultural and Historical Artifacts. This was one of the three major projects the Union arrived at to embark on, during her first Annual General Meeting held on 30th April 2022 at the University auditorium.
While Odunayo from Ilutitun Osooro in Okitipupa Local Government area have made her wrestling prowess international, Ikale Youths must know and be convinced that international feat dose not segregate nor discriminate, it comes to any deserving individual desirous of conquest in any area of human endeavor.
In this regard the Union has the plan to commence in earnest COMMUNITY FOOTBALL COMPETITION, with a view to fetching out football stars of Ikale origin.
At this juncture, UOII wishes to rejoice with all parents especially of Ikale origin home and in Diaspora on account of the victory of our daughter Odunayo Adekuoroye and admonished that fullest support where needed should promptly be rendered to our children in their chosen areas of struggle to conquest.
