The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aduro Foundation, Dr. Tony Aduro has said that the focus on the present 3 areas of provision of education, food and water to the people of Ondo State will be rigorously pursued.
Dr. Aduro made this known at Oloto on Thursday during the commissioning of a solar-powered borehole constructed by his foundation.
According to him, after educating the people, there is the need to make food and water available for them.
In the recent past, the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has aided education through award of scholarships to students, construction of Libraries and Science Laboratories in some schools, boreholes in not fewer than eight communities as well as establishment of the Aduro Farms.
Dr. Aduro, during a chat with journalists at the commissioning informed that he identifies the need for development to go round. “So when the kabiyesi requested for a borehole for his community during the commissioning of the Library and Laboratory at Igboegunrin recently, I felt obliged, moreso that the monarch did not request for a personal gain,” he said.
He promised to extend projects of the organisation from the communities to the towns and the cuties across Ondo State.
He emphasised the need for hygienic water in order to avert surging cholera and other cases associated with impure water.
While performing the commissioning, Oba Michael Obatuga Adetoye, the Jegun of Idepe – Okitpupa poured encomiums on Dr. Aduro, describing him as a great philanthropist.
Oba Adetoye admonished members of the community to maintain the project jealousy.
Other traditional rulers in attendance: Oba John Ebunola Ayeku, the Obagberume of Igbodigo and Oba Phillips Kalejaye, the Odede of Igboegunrin praised Aduro, praying for him for further laudable endeavours and good health.
The host monarch, Oba Michael Seewo, the Oloto of Igbinsin – Oloto expressed his joy on the rapid response to his request, allaying the fear of imminent water borne diseases in the community.
Highlight of the ceremony was drinking from newly commissioned water project by all and sundry.
