Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder and leader of INRI Spiritual Evangelical Church, has once again criticized the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) over its recent claim of a N3 trillion gain. Ayodele questioned the authenticity of the NNPC’s report and the implications for Nigeria’s economy, especially given the country’s ongoing borrowing.
Ayodele urged the ruling party to cease its alleged propaganda, asserting that the Nigerian economy will not improve under President Tinubu’s eight-year term. He called for the dismissal of the NNPC Group Managing Director (GMD), suggesting that the current leadership may be involved in hidden practices detrimental to the country.
In his statement, Ayodele highlighted the discrepancy between the reported economic gains and the persistent rise in food prices, accusing the government of misleading the public. He emphasized that despite claims of economic progress, the reality for many Nigerians is continued hardship and inflation. Ayodele reiterated that if the NNPC’s financial claims were accurate, Nigeria would not need to borrow more money, questioning the true state of the nation’s economy.
He concluded by expressing skepticism about the government’s ability to address these issues effectively, labeling the current situation as deceptive and in need of serious reform.
