Olumuyiwa Daramola Charges Newly Ordained Catholic Cleric

Grassroots Politician and leading aspirant for the House of Representatives position in Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Dr. Olumuyiwa Daramola has admonished the newly ordained Catholic Priest from Ode – Erinje, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, Revd. Father Clement Ajibolade not to relent in his commitments to the task of propagating the gospel.

Daramola, who spoke through his media office, made this appeal shortly after the thanksgiving reception in honour of the newly ordained Revd. Father at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ode – Erinje which was attended by high – ranking government functionaries in the state, including the Ondo State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa (represented by his Chief of Staff), Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Princess Oladunni Odu (represented by Mrs Erogunaye), Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology (represented by Hon. Aiyeku), and the Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government Council, Hon. Igbekele Akinrinwa, among others.

Daramola, while congratulating Revd. Father Ajibolade, his family and Ode – Erinje Community on this milestone, opined that the Christian youth, because of the new waves and hits of the recent Christian lifestyle in the country, has turned blind eyes to partisan politics and that Nigerians, including the cleric, believe that politics is a dirty game.

He challenged the newly ordained priest to, in the priesthood assignment, encourage believers to participate in politics so that we don’t leave the governance of the country in the hands of unbelievers.

He said, “politics is not a dirty game at all”.

Dr. Daramola who is also the Founder and Sole Poprietor of Olumuyiwa Daramola Foundation (ODF) submits that politics only gets dirty in the hands of “dirty” people.

He said, “Rufus Ada George once submitted that until the religious leaders encourage believers to venture into competitive politics and make their Mark’s, Nigeria would not get it right.”

The list of dignitaries at the event also include Hon. Lolade Gbegudu, Member representing Okitipupa Constitency 2 at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ayeniyi Olayeye, Former Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government and Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in the local government area, Hon. Fola Ewegbemi.

Other dignitaries at the service were Hon. Sina Akinwumi, a former member of the House of Assembly, and an impressive array of traditional rulers led by the Abodi and Paramount Ruler of Ikale Land, HRM Oba Gabriel Babatunde Faduyile as well as Catholic Bishops and priests across the state and beyond.
