The Nigerian Diaspora Think Tank Group (NDTT) has congratulated President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on the peaceful conduct of the Feb. 21 FCT elections.
In a statement issued on Monday in London, the group commended the leadership of President Tinubu and lauded the FCT administration for ensuring a smooth electoral process.
NDTT, described as a pro-Nigerian, non-governmental organisation comprising professionals in the diaspora, also extended appreciation to sub-national authorities where Local Government Area (LGA) elections were conducted over the weekend.
The group congratulated the winners of the FCT elections on what it termed their “hard-won victory,” while acknowledging the efforts of all political parties and candidates who participated in the process.
It encouraged candidates who did not emerge victorious to remain committed to national development and to continue contributing to democratic governance.
According to the statement, the outcome of the election reflects the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope agenda and people-oriented policies of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration.
NDTT further expressed confidence in the leadership of the FCT Minister, noting that his stewardship had contributed to the conduct of the elections.
The group emphasised the importance of democratic participation, stating that the power of the vote remains central to strengthening governance and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
The statement was signed by Abiola Aristotle, Public Relations Officer (UK), on behalf of the group’s executives, including Prof. Salewa Olafioye (Chairman, USA), Baba Gana Mustapha (Vice Chairman, Nigeria), and Chief A. Kalu (Secretary, Germany).
