The wife of the Chairman, Irele Local Government, Hon. Mrs Morenike Ajimotokin has stressed the important roles women play in the development of the family and society.
Mrs Ajimotokin stated this in Irele today while delivering a message at an event organized to celebrate the 2022 International Women’s Day in Irele Local Government.
The Chairperson also noted that women have a role to play to address the declining moral values in society.
Mrs Ajimotokin expressed displeasure on gender bias and inequality most especially the recent rejection of the gender bill in the National Assembly.
She urged the womenfolk to mobilize, support women’s agenda, effect the desired change and break the bias.
The Chairperson lauded Her Excellency, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu for her unwavering support and commitment to the welfare of women and the development of Girl Child in Ondo State assuring her unanimous support of women in Irele Local Government.
She thereafter distributed Sholayo Kit to pregnant women in the event and wished them safe delivery.
Equally, the Ondo State Southern Senatorial Women Leader, Mrs Mosunmola Odukale also gave a goodwill message and urged the women to dream big and work towards attaining higher in the future.
The event celebrated with the theme ‘Break the Bias’ had in attendance the Ondo State Southern Senatorial Women Leader, Mrs Mosunmola Odukale, Wife of Irele Local Government Vice-Chairman, Mrs Olufunke Akinfe, APC Women Leader, Irele Local Government, Chief Mrs Titilola Omosowo, Iyalaje of Ode Irele, Chief Mrs Abiodun Olowokandi, Olori Akinyelure, Ward5 Councillor, Hon. Adeyemi Akinloye, Wives of Councillors, Miss Irele Local Government, Miss Bisola Marilyn Ogunsusi, Representatives of National Council for Women Society(NCWS), Representatives of the OMABIREN, Women Professionals, Health Practitioners, Pregnant Women among others.
