The Executive Chairman, Okitipupa Local Government, Hon. Akinrinwa Igbekele has pledged to settle NURTW / RETEAN case out of court.
Hon. Akinrinwa Igbekele made this known when he was addressing the members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) led by its General Chairman, Com. Ikuedowo Sola and the Road Transport Employers of Nigeria ( RETEAN) led by its General Chairman, Com. Olaoluwa Owoyemi.
The chairman frowned at the way the drivers are carrying passengers by the road sides in Okitipupa.
He said, this was actually the base of their rift. He submitted that, henceforth, there will be a joint taskforce within the two union, to checkmate the activities of their members.
Also, “a taskforce will be set up by the local government to apprehend and prosecute the law breakers on our roads” . Akinrinwa said.
On the age long legal issue instituted by the RETEAN against the NURTW , the Chairman assured the parties that he will settle the case out of court in few weeks from now.
