The management of the University of Fortune has warned members of the public about a fake website allegedly created in the name of the institution by some fraudulent individuals.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ayo Olajuyigbe, issued the warning in a statement, noting that the attention of the university management had been drawn to the existence of the fake website designed to mislead unsuspecting members of the public.
Olajuyigbe explained that the institution, which was established by law, does not operate the said website and has no connection with those behind it.
He therefore advised prospective students, parents, and other stakeholders to exercise caution and avoid engaging with the website or submitting their personal information through it.
According to him, the website was deliberately created by unscrupulous elements with the intention of deceiving members of the public and defrauding them of their hard-earned money.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor further disclosed that the university had begun taking appropriate steps to identify those responsible for the fraudulent platform.
He added that the institution was working with relevant authorities to ensure that the perpetrators were apprehended and made to face the full weight of the law.
Olajuyigbe urged the public to always verify information about the university through its official communication channels to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
