8 OUTSTANDING WOMEN BAGS ONDO STATE FEMALE ROLE MODEL AWARD

It has been proven over the years that Women play a significant roles in nation building and the development of a nation. Hero magazine and the Ondo state outstanding leadership award platform, has not failed to appreciate the effort of some prominent daughter of Ondo state who have contributed to national development.

The 10h edition of the prestigious Ondo state female Role model award yearly organized by the Hero Magazine International, took place at the Capital city of Ondo state, Akure at the DE Dome International event center, on 26th June, 2022.

This year recipients, were considered due to their hard work, development initiatives, tenacity and philanthropic acts. They have not only made remarkable career achievement but also valuable contribution to Nigeria’s economy.

The Ist female head of service in Ondo state, Mrs. Kosemani Kolawole, and a medical practitioner with a difference, board member and former president of the Africa Regional Section of the world federation of societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA), Dr. Bisola Iretunde Onajim-Obembe both emerged and was crowned the 2022 Ondo State women of the year in private and public sector respectively.

Other awardees include,  Chief Mrs. Remilekun Ibidapo, a US based business woman of substance, Ambassador Awesola Adenike Victoria, a capacity developer, Dr. Lola Bayode, a Nigerian Doctor who built Dorian home, the biggest orphanage in Africa, Arch. Dr. Aminat Olorunfunmilayo Ajenifujah-Abubakar, the first female Doctorate Architectural graduate from FUTA, Princess Olawunmi Fayemi Annah, an administrator, a grass root politician and a philanthropist, Olawunmi Egbayelo-Ilawole  PhD, a visionary leader and a woman of substance and Hon. Bamidele Olateju, a cerebral amazon and commissioner.

The publisher of the Hero Magazine, organizer of the Awards, Dr. Sunday Akinbiola said these women were chosen because of they have been seen to have excelled in their different areas of calling and by all standard they deserve to be honoured.

He also made it clear to the public that no dissenting voice was recorded among the panelist that were saddled with the responsibility of ratifying the list of these women of substance. He therefore congratulate them for being a worthy ambassadors of their state.

The chairman of the event Oba Alaba Adako, Kabiyesi Oniyere of Iyere  who stood in For Prince Rotimi Ibidapo, the Aare Atunluse of Owo kingdom, said the award is an indication that the recipient has done a lot in the society.

The young ones will be more courageous as a result of this to be up and doing and I want to also let you know that the whole world is watching. Oba Alaba said

He further encouraged the organizers that since men and women are been honored yearly, that they should also follow the same process of nomination and look for young people who are doing well both in business and their careers and  honor them. Emphasizing that there are many young people who are doing well in the society that needs to be encouraged.

The climax of the event was the award ceremony and the investiture of the awardees as Ondo state female role models.

Also, while giving the closing remark, the representative of the Governor,  Hon. Dr. Dare Aragbaiye, special adviser to the governor on special duties congratulated all recipient and made it known to the whole guest present that the recipient all are survivors of the limiting situation that they found themselves and we will continue to take pride in your achievement, said Aragbaye

The event had in attendance The Rt. Revd. Dr. Stephen Fagbemi, The Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese, Prince Rotimi Ibidapo, the Aare of Owo kingdom, Hon. Gbenga Omole, spokesperson, Ondo state house of assembly, Mr. Gbenga Atiba, Ondo state commissioner of police Oyediran Oyeyemi, Rear Admiral Alade, to mention but a few.

Also in attendance to add colour to the event were De Emerald team, led by Icon Gbenga Obagbemi, the group presented the national anthem and the Ondo state anthem excellently and cultural groups from Owo and Akure.

It was really an amazing time for all awardees and guests who were present at the event.
