Ondo Central Senatorial District Hopeful, Hon. Adeniran Oyebade has commended Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his kind words of appreciation in recognition of the sacrifices of the Armed Forces in forging and building a great nation.
Hon. Oyebade made this remarks in Akure shortly after the ceremony, held at Chapel of Grace, Government House, Akure.
Hon. Oyebade who described Governor Akeredolu as a man of great courage whose impact is visible in major sectors of the economy, further urged the people to continue to support the Governor.
Governor Akeredolu had in the course of giving his remarks noted that the day has been set aside to honour departed heroes and appreciate the living ones, saying that he was aware of the various deprivations military men face in the course of giving services to humanity.
According to him, they “sign away their lives, comfort, family bond, at the expense of their wives and children, to gladly sign up to defend the territorial integrity of their fatherland and even pay the supreme sacrifice” noting that the sacrifices of these heroic and gallant soldiers, paved way for a country we can proudly call our own.
Governor Akeredolu, who also used the opportunity to solicit generous support for the widows and dependants of the fallen heroes as well as for those who are still alive, but physically challenged, urged the people to donate generously through the Emblem Appeal Fund.
