Yoruba Group Demands Sack of NNPCL Boss Over Corruption Allegations

The Yoruba Progressives Coalition (YPC) has called on President Tinubu to dismiss Mele Kyari, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), due to corruption allegations. In their letter, the YPC criticized Kyari’s leadership for its lack of transparency, accountability, and innovative ideas essential for Nigeria’s growth and prosperity.

The group warned that Kyari’s continued tenure could lead Nigeria to a state of arrested development, likening it to a “Stone Age nation” devoid of progress. They emphasized that his presence in the administration is detrimental, threatening the President’s vision and the well-being of Nigerians.

The YPC also expressed concerns about the management of the country’s natural resources under Kyari’s leadership, alleging exploitation for personal gain. They called for a thorough investigation and reform of the NNPCL to restore transparency and effective leadership.

In their appeal, the YPC reminded President Tinubu of his responsibility to safeguard the interests of Nigerians. They urged him to act decisively to remove Kyari from his position, restore public faith in the NNPCL and his administration, and prevent further damage to Nigeria’s reputation and resources.

The group concluded by affirming their confidence in President Tinubu’s commitment to Nigeria’s prosperity and urged prompt action on the matter.
