humanity-ism (humanitism)
we meet people and we ask them,
what do you do?
and they say, we do tribalism
we meet people and we ask them,
what do you do?
and they say, we do racialism
we meet people and we ask them, what do you do?
and they go, we do only-us-ism
(onlyusism)
in turn they ask us, what do you also do?
and we reply, we do humanity-ism (humanitism)
they then ask,
tell us about this humanity-ism
and we go,
anyone like us, is a brother
anyone like us, is a sister
no matter where life places him or her on earth
we feel their feel
and they also feel our feel
we accept, our diversities
but we focus on our prime humanity-ism,
that we all share
and core humanity-ism
which is basic to everyone
then they go, yours is appealing and embracing
we will leave ours here and join yours
from that day, they are now part of us living, humanity-ism
we farm together,
we break bread together,
we drink water together,
we laugh together and
we even cry together
and banish envy among us
thus closing the door,
that leads to the field of war
so what is the gain?
we hear newcomers ask,
again and again
look, the smiths’ guild who used to make sword,
now furnish a plow
they even join us cultivating the land in peace and with joy
by merely abandoning their old ways of,
stoking conflict in order to sell swords
and today they’re also living,
humanity-ism
in their own words, they say, we are happier and joyful into cassava and grains and fruits
than in our sword making days
for in those days,
we fear, a man, who buys a sword from us
may even turn it, on us
humanity-ism has helped us
to let go all of that
