Retired soldier, administrator, Maj-Gen Joseph Oluyemi Bajowa was born on December 27, 1940 in Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria; He is Married to Loretta Aduke with two sons and three daughters:

He attended Manuwa Memorial Grammar School, lju-Odo in 1954-58, and Gboluji Grammar School, Ile-Oluji, 1959.He furthered to the Federal School of Science, Lagos in 1960, and Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, he also attended Command and Staff College, Camberley, England in 1970.
