Aduro Foundation Commissions Utra-Modern Community Library and Science Laboratory

Ondo State Governor, Honourable Lucky Aiyedatiwa has emphasised the importance of both library and science laboratory in a school system.

Represented by the Ilaje Area Education Officer (A. E. O), Mr. Victor Ojuola, Aiyedatiwa laid emphasy during the official commissioning of the 100 – million Naira ultra modern Community Library and Laboratory, built by Aduro Foundation at the Community Grammar School, Igboegunrin in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State on Thursday.

The governor who lauded initiatives of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Dr. Tony Aduro, said both facilities are the best for teaching/ learning processes, especially for research works.

He called on other citizens of the state who are able to feed themselves and have surplus to emulate Aduro’s gesture as Government alone can no longer provide everything for the people.

In a keynote address delivered on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitpupa, Professor Temi Ologunorisa, the Librarian, Professor Fredrick Ajebomagun aptly described provision of the facilities as a demonstration of the high value placed on education by the donor.

Books! Books!! Books!!! Except students and people refuse to read. Also good for researchers.

Ologunorisa admonished parents, staff and students as well as those who may be using the library and laboratory to protect them as their personal belongings.

In his address, principal of the school, Mr Daniel Olowodasa was full of praises for Dr. Aduro.

He enumerated other needs of the school to include computer teachers, text books, staff quarters and others.

The Reactor of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic RUGPOL), Owo and president of the Old Students Association of the school, Olorunwa Adegun appealed to Ondo State Government to employ security guards to secure the facilities.

Appreciating Dr. Anthony Aduro”s kind gesture to Igboegunrin community, His Royal Majesty, Oba Phillips Kalejaye, the Odede of Igboegunrin congratulated the students and their parents for the facilities, urging parents to encourage their children to face their studies.

In his address, Dr. Aduro said he was challenged to do all within him to promote education of the future leaders on the day an indigene of Igboegunrin, one Mr. Orimisan Adepiti donated exercise books to some nineteen students of the school.

He announced a five- million Naira scholarship for the first two or three students of the Community Grammar School, Igboegunrin to gain admissions into the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitpupa after the day.

He also volunteered to hire a librarian to monitor the well-stocked library until one is employed by the government or the community.

Highlight of the occasion was presentation of awards to Dr. Aduro by the school authority and the Old Students Association.
