Dr Olumuyiwa Daramola, a renowned US-Based epidemiologist and Drug design expert has gotten his name flowing in the mouth of every Ikale son and daughter owing to his meaningful contributions and impact to lives across the land. The illustrious medical professional cum researcher has his expertise radiated across diverse areas of the medical field with immense knowledge in public health, pharmacovigilance, clinical research, biochemistry and molecular biology bioinformatics to mention a few. Early Life.The Philanthropist was born on 19th March, 1985 to the family of Professor Cladius Omoleye and Mrs Beatrice Daramola of Lumeko Quarters of Ode-Aye Kingdom, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. Olumuyiwa lived his early life in the ancient city of Ile-Ife where he was raised; however, with a constant touch with his Ode-Aye community at every sight of homecoming opportunity.
Education
The young Olumuyiwa started his educational journey at Sijuwade Nursery/Primary School, Ile-Ife where he obtained his Primary Six leaving certificate. He proceeded to Moremi High School and later, School of Science all at Ile-Ife where he obtained his Senior School Certificate in 2001. In his desire to pursue his dream of becoming a certified and established medical doctor that he is today, Olumuyiwa pursued and gained admission to study his desired choice of course, Medicine and Surgery in 2002 at the prestigious University of Ilorin, Kwara State.He later moved to the United States in 2006 where he continued the pursuance of his dream. He completed his University degree in Medicine, and further had Master’s Degree in Biomedical Science at Georgetown University, Washington DC. And to Capella University where he bagged a PhD in Public Health.
Career
Dr Olumuyiwa has immense knowledge in clinical research project management, patient recruitment, diversity inclusion, good clinical research practice of monitoring and management of clinical trials, regulations related to monitoring of clinical trials, patients’ safety and applications, database administrator, all complemented with a vast research experience.He joined Food and Drug Administration, FDA as a clinical Researcher between 2014-2017.He currently works as Associate Director of Neuroscience at Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD), a global contract research organization providing comprehensive, integrated drug development, laboratory and lifecycle management services.
Contributions
Dr Olumuyiwa Daramola served as the President of Nigerian residents in Frederick Maryland, USA between 2016-2020. Being a staunch clinical research patient diversity advocate, he chairs the Adhoc Committee on Inclusion of Minority Groups in Clinical Research at Pharmaceutical Product Development where he works. More so, he’s gotten involved in the development of numerous new neurological disorder and oncology medications that has attracted global approval and adoption. Out of his passion for giving back to the society, and impacting lives positively, he had founded Olumuyiwa Daramola Foundation (ODF), a Non-Governmental Organization that sees to enrich, empower and uplift indigents and less-privileged in Ikale land and beyond through numerous humanitarian gestures. Marital Life
He’s married to his heartthrob, Mrs Oluwunmi Daramola, and the union is blessed with 4 kids.Addendum. As an articulate communicator that he is, he communicates fluently in English, Yoruba and touches of his native Ikale dialect.
Aspiration
Dr Olumuyiwa Daramola has a great passion for development of Ikale land and has been impacting lives in form giving scholarship for students, paying bursary our students, giving some people seed capital for businesses, free medical services for less privileged, cash gifts for the windows and aged people and he had as well dung boreholes in some communities and villages for people whose challenges is lack of portable water to have access to clean water.
In order to bequeath more lagacies of service to humanity comes 2023, Dr Olumuyiwa Daramola has answered the Clarion call of his people to represent the entire good people of Irele/Okitipupa Federal Constituency in order to provide effective representation, good legislation, true leadership with good results which they have been yearning for over 2 decades ago.
