Poetic musings

Party crashers[/caption
A wardrobe full of lace
Ankara and brocade
Caps and sunglasses
in every color and shade
every week they’d
Scout for party venues
but not just any party
high society parties

So on weekends
and sometimes weekdays
they set out in party colors
with smiles as wide as saucers
they seat near serving points
and avoid the waiters’ gazes
armed with a dozen polythene bags
Strategically placed at table edges
As their eyes roam like hungry lions
And feast on delicacies

One after the other
empty dishes appear on tables
drinks emptied into plastic bottles
they switch tables
and signal waiters for more
to fill gigantic bottomless pits

the cycle continues
Until the next big event
Until the crasher meets bouncer
who demands an invite
